Things You Should Never Do When Fixing Your Credit
Apply For More Credit-If your score is low because of negatives on your report the last thing you should do is start applying for new credit all over town. If you do feel you need to secure some credit look into secured charge cards because the approval percentage is very high compared to traditional credit sources.
Pay Late On Accounts- If you have accounts that are open the last thing you want to do is pay them late when you are trying to fix your credit report. One single 30 day late period can drop your score 50 points or more and erase all the hard work you have done up until that point. To make sure you do not pay late try using an automated online bill pay service and have the payment sent a day or two before it is due automatically each month.
Constantly Check Your Credit Score-When you are fixing your credit report and score you should never keep checking it to see if it is improving. Even if you are having negative accounts removed from your report it can take 30-60 days before it reports on your credit report. It is safer to complete the credit repair and remove all the negative items you can and then check your scores.
